In Berkeley

I hopped on a plane yesterday after work, and now I'm chilling in Berkeley at Brian's place. I'm here in the bay area to see two of my best friends off before they move off to far-flung places of the earth for a year or more. amperlj and farmchick will be moving to New Zealand and Ghana respectively at the end of the month. I've known them both for over a decade - Kat was my roommate at HMC and Chiara went to the college next door. I'm really excited for them that they're heading off on these grand adventures, and also kind of jealous. I'm hoping to visit Chiara in New Zealand sometime next year. I'd love to visit Kat in Ghana too, but when we talked about it, it sounded like it would be pretty difficult. Plus, she'll be there for school so she'll actually have work to do and stuff. So will Chiara, but I'm a lot more comfortable with the idea of being in New Zealand on my own.

Anyhow, this morning I'm getting breakfast with Brian here in Berkeley, then I'm heading into San Francisco for a trip to Telegraph Hill and a trip to Japantown, then I'm heading off to Sunnyvale to spend some time with Chiara and alpiinebutterfly. Tomorrow I'm heading to Marin to spend some time with Kat.
