I hosted an Indie Jews Shabbat this evening. It went really well. It was a nice turnout - about 10 people - enough to make my house feel full but not overwhelmed. The Indie Jew Shabbats are done as vegetarian potlucks, and the spread was really nice tonight. I made penne with roasted red peppers and mozzarella, and a quinoa-edamame-shitake mushroom salad.

Now everyone has left, my house is quiet save for the clicking and shuffling my birds make as they're settling in to sleep. I'm drinking a gimlet and watching the Shabbat candles burn down, feeling content.
