We had a storm blow through here tonight with winds up to 70 mph and several tornado touchdowns. I was in St. Paul for the duration of the storm, and we just got heavy rain and some serious wind. Evidently the Northeast side of Minneapolis wasn't so lucky though - Rogers called soon after the tornado sirens went off to find out if I had power. Later I talked to him while he was driving around and trying to find someplace with power that he could get dinner and/or a wi-fi connection.
The storm hit Brooklyn Park - the suburb I work in - pretty hard. According to the Star Tribune, 50% of trees were down in some areas. I was wondering if we had power there and decided to try to check my e-mail. It was down, so I'm guessing we don't.
If power's out tomorrow morning, there won't be a lot of reason to go into work. I wouldn't mind a free day off, but the timing would suck. And I'm really hoping that our generators kicked in for our controlled temp/humidity chambers, because it will be a big pain if we have to write a deviation for everything in them.
